Oh, boy...things like that happening are so sad. I once went to Jackson and stayed in a cabin and knocked over my water on the nightstand and soaked a brand new computer book. You have my sympathy.

I am such a party pooper when it comes to homemade ice cream. I got an ice cream maker and cookbook (the one you have pictured in your first picture with the strawberry ice cream on the cover) when I got married. We did make ice cream a few times but buying the ingredients costed more money than a half gallon of Bryers ice cream and usually it wouldn't set up enough in the machine and we would have to freeze it anyway. So when we moved to Texas, and I knew how small our student housing apartment would be, I donated the machine. Obviously you enjoy making homemade ice cream though. Do you have a favorite kind to make?

I wish my caprese salads were as beautiful as this one. But just seeing it makes me sad that summer and fresh tomatoes are almost over.
