I think both biases are silly but I do wonder sometimes if I am wrong since it seems that there are a good deal of people smarter than I who actually think both of these cultural oddities are important. My concern though is that in 300 hundred years we're going to be walking around looking as odd as Hasidic Jews--not that there is anything wrong with that--but it probably isn't in the best interest of religious organization for whom proselyting is important.
