I totally forgot about the whole meeting, so don’t feel bad about the dress. I even drove by and was thinking, “What is going on at the church on a Thursday?” I hope it was good! I was really looking forward to it. Boo, me!

I wish that more women would not get the memo. This is something that ought to change in our culture, at least for most occasions, but it won’t unless people who are mainstream show up in pants sometimes.

Yes but there is a fair amount of resistance towards changing this norm, just as there is about dropping the anti-beard bias.
I think both biases are silly but I do wonder sometimes if I am wrong since it seems that there are a good deal of people smarter than I who actually think both of these cultural oddities are important.
My concern though is that in 300 hundred years we’re going to be walking around looking as odd as Hasidic Jews–not that there is anything wrong with that–but it probably isn’t in the best interest of religious organization for whom proselyting is important.
