I am thankful for the pleasure of eating.
Eating is something I take great pleasure in right now, because with Kate’s recent tummy troubles she has decided that she isn’t interested in solid foods. The good news is that she has been keeping the breastmilk down. The bad news is that the volume of milk needed to sustain an 81/2 month old is apparently large. She nurses for hours! So, I have trouble getting anything done and I am hungry. So hungry.
My weight is not dipping because I am hungry and I do bad things like eating the leftover hot fudge sauce with a spoon. We were at my inlaws tonight and I was embarrassed when I and everyone else noticed that I had eaten all the food they had put out. “Er, what else can we get you?” I was very pleased with their “what else.”
Yes, I am rather a human vacuum. Hungry, so hungry! But there’s the upside: I can eat rather large quantities of food because I do (apparently) need the calories. Food is pleasurable, and I have calories to spend! Fudge sauce and Halloween candy, here I come! (If I could get away with it, I’d hang out at my inlaws. Chicken, grapes, & cheese are an ideal triumvirate. It’s not all about chocolate and sugar–although you won’t find me forgetting about the last of that fudge sauce in the fridge..
